Why is it important to write your goals down?

If you are constantly thinking about something you want to achieve, but never write it down... it's not actually an official goal yet.  Close.... but no cigar.  In order for it to qualify as an actual Goal, it needs to be written down.  In black and white.  On paper.  No ifs, ands, or buts.  Write it down!  Write it down!  Write it down!
